The political tussle in Tamil Nadu has intensified with the state BJP countering Chief Minister M K Stalin's claims about the saffronisation agenda. On Tuesday, BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy disputed Stalin's allegation, highlighting that deceased DMK leader M Karunanidhi had already initiated such plans in 1999.
Thirupathy referenced the DMK's past participation in the NDA, led by A B Vajpayee, which saw DMK members acquiring cabinet positions. This historical collaboration calls into question Stalin's current accusations against the BJP's intentions for the state.
During a speech, Stalin accused AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami of subordinating the party's interests to the BJP, endangering regional autonomy. However, BJP's retort underscores the political complexities and evolving alliances in Tamil Nadu's dynamic political landscape.
