Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), expressed his intention to fortify Nepal-India relations through 'development diplomacy' after receiving commendations from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the party's electoral success.
RSP is approaching a significant two-thirds majority in Nepal's parliamentary elections, holding 125 seats through direct votes and amassing over 48 million votes via proportionate voting. Lamichhane emphasized his dedication to nurturing a mutually beneficial relationship with India, focusing on sectors like connectivity, cultural tourism, energy, and trade.
Prime Minister Modi extended his congratulations to both Lamichhane and Balendra Shah, soon to be Nepal's first Madhesi prime minister. Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to collaboration for mutual prosperity, with confidence in the future growth of India-Nepal relations.
