Karnataka's Home Minister G Parameshwara asserted there are no internal rifts within the ruling Congress over the issue of internal reservations. The minister highlighted that discussions are ongoing to adjust the quota, reduced from 56% to 50% following court mandates.
The government is focused on addressing technical aspects before finalizing the proportions in the next Cabinet meeting. Parameshwara emphasized the absence of factions, attributing divergent opinions to normal discourse rather than party divisions.
He noted that recalculating the reservation categories is essential following the Nagamohan Das report and subsequent court rulings, emphasizing inclusivity for various communities like Bhovis and Lambanis.
