A tragic car accident claimed the lives of two young men returning from a wedding procession in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district. Police identified the deceased as Atul Kumar Pandey, 30, and Akash Pal, 25. The vehicle veered off its path and crashed into a tree at high speed, causing severe damage.
Pandey, who owned a clothing store in Bariyarpur, was accompanied by Pal, an employee. The accident happened on the Sonughat-Mahuani road near Ghataila Ghazi. The duo was on their way post-wedding when the car lost control, resulting in a tragic collision.
Local residents informed the police about the incident in the early hours of Tuesday. Officials, with the help of locals, extracted the victims from the wrecked vehicle, but both had already succumbed to their injuries. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and an investigation is ongoing.
