Karnataka Faces Healthcare Crisis Amid Doctors' Strike

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao announced optimism in addressing the concerns raised by the Karnataka Government Medical Officers' Association (KGMOA) and other health department representatives. The demands from healthcare professionals include unresolved issues that span years, such as Cadre and Recruitment Rules and discrepancies in seniority. Rao assured the Legislative Assembly that efforts are underway to resolve these matters in the interest of the public.

Amid concerns over the statewide strike, the government has been urged to negotiate with healthcare workers rather than enforcing the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA). Three MLAs highlighted the potential devastating impact of the strike on the impoverished, urging immediate dialogue and resolution.
