In a pressing appeal, Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to guarantee the safe return of students from Jammu and Kashmir, currently stranded in Iran. The plea, made via a social media post, highlights the worsening situation in Iran, which has left many students from the Union territory in a vulnerable position.

Mufti, who previously held the position of Jammu and Kashmir's chief minister, emphasized the need for swift action. She called for Modi's direct involvement, along with the Ministry of External Affairs and Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, to expedite evacuation efforts and ensure the students' safe passage home.
