Modi acknowledged Syngkon's committed service to the people of Meghalaya. The 54-year-old MP from the Voice of the People Party collapsed on Thursday while playing futsal.
Syngkon was a prominent figure in Meghalaya, recognized for his grassroots efforts and public engagement across the Khasi-Jaintia Hills. Elected to the Lok Sabha in 2024, he achieved victory by a substantial margin, marking a significant political triumph.
In a statement shared on X, Modi conveyed his sorrow, extending his thoughts to Syngkon's family, friends, and supporters during this challenging time. He noted that Syngkon's contributions will be fondly remembered by the community he passionately served.
