In a tense session of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, Chairman Koyye Moshen Raju temporarily adjourned proceedings after intense debates over the alleged display of religious images by YSRCP members. The controversy centered on Heritage Foods, purportedly linked to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's family, and its involvement in ghee supplies to TTD.
The discord began when opposition members demanded a discussion on the matter, which was denied by the Chairman, leading to further protests. Finance Minister P Keshav criticized the display of deity images, questioning the dignity of the action and accusing YSRCP members of dragging religious sentiments into politics.
YSRCP leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy charged that Naidu opposed examining Indapur Dairy's connection with Heritage, alleging preferential tender treatment. Reddy cited an increase in ghee prices supplied to TTD from Rs 278 to Rs 658 per kg, accusing the current administration of complicity in tender misconduct. Naidu refuted claims, labeling Heritage Foods a family livelihood managed professionally.
