A man has been detained by police in Rajasthan’s Kota after a video emerged threatening Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and 25 opposition MPs. The man, identifying as Raj Singh, a spokesperson for Karni Sena, cited anger towards Congress MPs' conduct in Parliament. Authorities have confirmed Singh’s prior criminal record.
The video, showcasing Singh’s threats, also displayed images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Speaker Om Birla. Singh’s claims were swiftly dismissed by the BJP and Karni Sena, highlighting their disassociation and condemning any violent rhetoric.
Raj Singh is under investigation, with the police pursuing legal actions. Party representatives reiterated their non-violent ideologies, emphasizing civility in political disagreements, and denied Singh’s affiliation with recognized political groups.
