In a fiery press conference on Tuesday, the Congress party accused Union Minister Hardeep Puri of deceit regarding his ties with Jeffrey Epstein, demanding his immediate resignation. Alleged 62 emails and 14 meetings between 2014 and 2017 raise questions about Puri's dealings with the convicted American sex offender.
Citing specific dates from 2014, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera questioned Puri's motives and government role during those interactions with Epstein. He further alleged that Puri shared government policies with Epstein and consistently lied about their relationship in public interviews.
Reacting to the accusations, Puri clarified that his limited meetings with Epstein were unrelated to any crimes Epstein committed. Meanwhile, Khera also critiqued discrepancies in government's statements about Bill Gates's AI Summit attendance, unrelated to Epstein's controversies but adding to the political drama.
