The Tasnim news agency, with ties to the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, stated that missiles were launched from within Iran, hitting targets across the strategic waterway.
The exercises began as the US and Iran entered a second round of indirect negotiations concerning Iran's nuclear program, amid the important trade routes comprising 20% of the globe's oil transport.
