BJP Slams Mamata Banerjee's 'Flop Drama' in Supreme Court

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for what it described as a 'flop drama' during her appearance at the Supreme Court. Banerjee criticized the Election Commission's special intensive revision of electoral rolls, claiming unfair treatment of West Bengal.

During the court proceedings, Banerjee made a plea for democracy, arguing the Election Commission erroneously declared living citizens as deceased. Her impassioned five-minute speech was labeled political by the BJP, with Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar asserting that her theatrics aimed to capture public attention through media presence.

Majumdar, alongside BJP's West Bengal unit president Samik Bhattacharya, suggested Banerjee orchestrated the performance to compensate for an anticipated electoral defeat in the forthcoming state assembly elections. BJP leaders alleged that the electorate has grown weary of her administration, signaling a shift against her continued governance.
