Chief Minister Omar Abdullah underscored the importance of decentralizing healthcare services to address overcrowding issues in Jammu and Srinagar's hospitals.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a state-of-the-art 243-bed maternity block at SMGS Hospital, Abdullah highlighted that enhancing medical facilities in districts is crucial for reducing patient loads in urban hospitals.
Efforts are ongoing to bolster medical manpower, with plans to increase MBBS and specialist seats, aiming for improved district-level healthcare access and decongestion of major city hospitals.
