Stalin Criticizes BJP's Budget Snub to Tamil Nadu Ahead of Polls

Chief Minister M K Stalin, on Wednesday, sharply criticized the BJP-led Centre for not allocating funds to Tamil Nadu in the recent Union Budget, despite the state facing upcoming Assembly elections. Speaking at a government event, Stalin asserted that while the Tamil Nadu government has been diligently working for the state's development, the BJP government at the center has been undermining these efforts.

Citing examples of budget allocations in other election-bound states like Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha, Stalin accused the BJP of deliberately excluding Tamil Nadu due to their alleged bias against the state. He highlighted that even the traditional recital of the Tamil classic 'Thirukkural' was omitted in this year's budget, signaling a lack of acknowledgment for the state's needs.

Stalin also expressed confidence that despite the center's apparent neglect, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party will win the upcoming elections and establish a Dravidian model 2.0 regime for the betterment of the people. This statement came as he addressed the valedictory function of the 'Ungaluduan Stalin' scheme, which has successfully processed most of the petitions received from rural and urban areas of Tamil Nadu.
