Strengthening Ties: Canada and India's Collaborative Future

Canada is reaffirming its commitment to strengthen ties with India, focusing on productive bilateral cooperation. This message was conveyed by Canadian Minister of Indigenous Relations, Rajan Sawhney, at an event held at Chandigarh University on Wednesday.

During the event titled 'Beyond Diplomacy: People, Knowledge and Youth as the Future of India-Canada Relations', Sawhney outlined Canada's eagerness to expand partnerships in trade, education, energy, and research. She highlighted Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's upcoming visit to India as a key opportunity to enhance economic cooperation.

She noted the significant potential for collaboration in areas such as clean energy technologies, artificial intelligence, and university linkages, advocating for deeper academic and research collaborations between the two nations. Sawhney also addressed issues like international education quotas and consular service expansion amid ongoing challenges such as racial discrimination.
