The brutal killing of gangster-turned-politician Dular Chand Yadav during an election campaign in Patna's Mokama area has sparked a comprehensive investigation, authorities confirmed on Friday.
Police revealed that Yadav, who had shifted allegiance to Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party, was allegedly shot and later died after being run over by a vehicle. The autopsy will be conducted under the supervision of a recently formed medical board at a government hospital.
As political tensions mount, calls for further scrutiny of electoral conduct have grown. RJD candidate Veena Devi and others have demanded a high-level probe, pressing the Election Commission for swift punitive measures against code violators.
