Electing to field first, Pakistan capitalized on their decision by dismantling the South African batting lineup, dismissing them for a mere 110 runs in 19.2 overs. With such a modest target, the home side raced to victory with 41 deliveries remaining.
Babar Azam, adding 11 not out, surpassed India's Rohit Sharma to become the highest run-scorer in T20 Internationals. South Africa struggled against a fiery Pakistani bowling attack, their efforts only highlighted by Dewald Brevis's 25-run contribution.
