The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the opposition Congress party following the emergence of a video on social media. The video, which has caused considerable controversy, allegedly shows a Congress leader performing Bangladesh's national anthem during an official Seva Dal meeting in Assam.
BJP's national spokesperson Shehzaad Poonawalla condemned the act, asserting that the Congress has perpetually supported 'Bangladeshi intruders'. He described the incident as a deliberate attempt at securing vote banks, which bolsters accusations of the party fostering a 'breaking India' narrative. Poonawalla called for immediate clarification from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
The controversy has further expanded to include a critique of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in West Bengal, with allegations against Mamata Banerjee's government for inciting riots amid electoral roll revisions. BJP claims that opposition parties display inconsistent standards concerning voter roll revisions in different states.
