The peaceful landscape of Assam's Nagaon district was marred by the discovery of a rhino carcass on Wednesday. Officials revealed the tragic find near the Silghat Kamakhya temple in Kaliabar.
The rhino, identified as a male from nearby Kaziranga National Park, showed signs of a fierce battle with a tiger, ultimately succumbing to severe injuries sustained during the encounter.
The loss has prompted forest officials to intensify efforts to determine the precise cause of death as they attempt to safeguard the remaining wildlife and guide any other straying rhinos safely back to the park.
