Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya launched a scathing attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday, condemning his remarks concerning the Waqf (Amendment) Act. Maurya accused Yadav of engaging in what he termed 'Muslim appeasement politics' in Bihar.
Addressing media in Patna, Maurya remarked, "This affronts both the Parliament and Constitution of India. The people's verdict will be delivered on November 6 and 11 during the Bihar elections." Yadav had previously stated the Waqf law would be discarded if his alliance achieved victory in the state.
As Bihar braces for its pivotal elections, the legislative amendment has become a flashpoint. The 243-seat Bihar Assembly will undergo two-phase voting, with results declared a few days after the November 11 bye-elections. The NDA coalition faces off against the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, intensifying the political battlefield.
