Pakistan Stands with Kashmir: Leaders Reaffirm Support on 'Black Day'

Pakistan's top leaders, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reaffirmed their country's unwavering support for Kashmir's right to self-determination on Monday. Their proclamations came in anticipation of October 27, known as 'Black Day,' commemorating Pakistan's opposition to India's historical and recent actions in the region.
In his address, President Zardari criticized India's 'unilateral and illegal' moves on August 5, 2019, which he claims aimed to alter Kashmir's demographics. He urged global entities, particularly the United Nations, to hold India accountable for alleged human rights violations and ensure the implementation of pertinent UN resolutions.
Echoing similar sentiments, Prime Minister Sharif asserted that the people of Kashmir are not alone in their quest. He emphasized the solidarity of 240 million Pakistanis in supporting Kashmiri aspirations. On this day, various areas along the Line of Control saw observances, including protests and rallies, signifying resistance against India's policies and actions.
