The President of Uganda and the First Lady embraced the spirit of Diwali by hosting a spectacular dinner for the Indian community at the State House in Entebbe on Sunday evening. As reported by the Indian High Commission, attendees wore vibrant yellow, celebrating the iconic festival with a display of warmth, color, and cultural unity. The gathering included prominent figures from Uganda's Indian community and officials from the Indian High Commission in Kampala.
The evening saw participation from @IndiainUganda officials, led by High Commissioner Upendra S Rawat, emphasizing the deep-rooted ties between the nations. Rawat addressed the attendees, highlighting the Indian community's significant contributions to Uganda's economic landscape. The State House dinner symbolized the enduring friendship and cultural bonds shared between India and Uganda.
In other celebrations, India's Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, joined the Indian diaspora at the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) as they marked Diwali. Ambassador Kwatra expressed joy in celebrating with the Indian diaspora, noting these events as vital in promoting India's rich cultural heritage and fostering international goodwill, as stated in an ANI report.
