Telangana CM Urges Maoists to Surrender, Lauds Police for Exemplary Service

In a significant appeal, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy called on active Maoist leaders and their cadres to lay down arms and integrate into society, joining the nation-building mission. The call comes as part of efforts to mitigate the state's historical struggle with Maoist and terrorist disturbances, according to the Chief Minister's Office.
Speaking at the Police Commemoration Day at Hyderabad's Police Jawans' Memorial, CM Reddy paid tribute to the sacrifice of 191 officers, including six from Telangana, emphasizing the vital role of the police in reducing terror and Naxal activities. The sacrifices of Greyhounds commandos and other personnel were notably acknowledged, while compensation packages for the families of fallen officers were revealed.
The Chief Minister highlighted the Telangana Police Department's remarkable achievements, such as leading nationally in adopting advanced policing technologies and ranking first in the India Justice Report 2025. He underscored emerging crime challenges like cybercrime and drug trafficking, while praising the establishment of specialized units to combat these issues, setting an example nationwide.
