The Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee (MSPMC) has decided to hold accountable department heads who fail to execute the panel's recommendations for ongoing projects, according to an official statement. This move came during the committee's meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma.
The Chief Minister highlighted the committee's positive impacts and urged members to maintain their dedication. To enhance rapid development, the Mizoram government streamlined project workflows, targeting bureaucratic bottlenecks that historically delayed project execution.
Previously, projects were hampered by slow file movements due to repeated financial and administrative approvals. The government now allows department secretaries to independently approve administrative and financial sanctions, reducing these delays significantly. The meeting also reviewed enhanced monitoring mechanisms for the current financial year, including more efficient field visits and public engagement strategies.
