Mizoram Achieves 80% Pass Rate in Class 10 Exams: A Shift Towards Competency-Based Education

The Mizoram Board of School Education announced that this year's Class 10 exam results saw an encouraging rise with an 80.31% pass rate compared to last year's 76.68%. Officials released the results on Thursday, highlighting the increased success among state-aided schools and a shift in educational focus.

A total of 18,257 students sat for the exams held in February and March. Among boys, 81.16% cleared the exams while 79.59% of girls passed. Adopting a new approach, the MBSE has stopped publishing ranking lists, aiming to discourage student competition and prioritize competency-based education.

State-aided schools led in performance with a 96.92% success rate, while 146 schools achieved a perfect pass rate. The south Mizoram district of Siaha topped the list with an 89.71% pass rate, as the state continues to push for higher educational standards.
