United Front: Fighting Drug Menace in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha initiated the 'drug-free J&K campaign' in Reasi, stressing the importance of security checks around educational institutions and other vulnerable areas. Sinha warned drug traffickers of severe legal consequences and called for unified efforts from communities and institutions.

Sinha highlighted that a strong collective resolve against narcotics has formed across the Union Territory in just 12 days. He emphasized the importance of treating drug traffickers and terrorists as allied threats, urging decisive actions to dismantle smuggling networks completely.

The Lieutenant Governor underscored the need for a societal movement against drug abuse, urging NGOs, social workers, spiritual leaders, and educators to lead the charge. Women's committees play a crucial role, with 1,947 established since April 11, aiming to combat the drug problem through community monitoring and involvement.
