A tragic explosion at a Mundathikkode fireworks manufacturing site resulted in the deaths of 14 people and left four more missing as police continued their intense search efforts on Friday.
The explosion, which rocked the site on April 21, was met with an organized response involving search teams and cadaver dogs, recovering a significant number of body parts between Thursday and Friday. By Friday, authorities announced 132 body parts have been found.
The recovered remains have been sent to Thrissur Medical College for preservation and DNA testing. A team of experts is carefully extracting DNA from the remains to match them with samples from the relatives of the missing, reflecting the urgency to bring closure to grieving families.
