In Mundathikkode, a deadly explosion at a fireworks manufacturing unit has claimed 14 lives and left four individuals missing, police reported on Friday. The incident has prompted police to initiate extensive search operations, recovering numerous body parts with the aid of cadaver dogs.
Officials confirmed that 132 body parts have been found and sent to Thrissur Medical College for preservation and DNA testing. A specialized team is tasked with matching recovered DNA samples with those from relatives of the missing individuals in an effort to provide closure to the families.
