Amid growing concerns over fireworks safety, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has urged for stringent standards post-Mundathikkode tragedy, where 14 lives were lost.
Speaking at the accident site, he decried the lack of implementation of safety recommendations from the Puttingal Temple disaster report, attributing lax enforcement to recurring tragedies.
Chennithala emphasized modernizing safety measures and strict adherence to current norms, while acknowledging public and private support for victims' families as a crucial step forward.
