Amritsar Police Busts Cross-Border Smuggling Racket

Three men have been arrested by Amritsar Police for smuggling drugs and arms across the border. 915 grams of ICE and five sophisticated pistols were seized. The operation was linked to Pakistan-based smugglers, and consignment drops were carried out using drones in Ferozepur's forested areas.

In a significant crackdown, the Amritsar Police dismantled a cross-border drug and arms smuggling ring, apprehending three men and confiscating 915 grams of methamphetamine, alongside five advanced pistols.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav revealed that the arrested individuals, identified as Sukhwinder Singh, alias Sukha, Sola Singh, alias Sonu, and Karan Singh, were linked to smugglers in Pakistan. The illicit items were transported into India via drones.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar noted that meticulous intelligence gathering led to the arrests. The investigation uncovered that the smugglers deftly retrieved and distributed consignments dropped in the Ferozepur sector's forested locales.
