Mumbai Police swiftly cracked a major ATM cash van heist, arresting two suspects just hours after the crime. The theft, amounting to over Rs 63 lakh, took place in Kandivali on Tuesday night. Police recovered a significant part of the sum, casting light on the involvement of insiders.

The incident occurred at an Axis Bank's ATM within the Rajkiran Co-operative Housing Society when the van came to replenish cash. Sushant Kasare, an employee of the cash-handling firm, allegedly distracted the guard. Taking advantage, he and an accomplice fled with cash, triggering an immediate police response.

Authorities employed technical analysis and mobile tracking, leading to the duo's interception near Raigad. A hefty Rs 62.74 lakh was found in their possession. Investigations continue to uncover potential accomplices in the heist.
