Police have successfully captured Aashiq, a notorious criminal linked to a series of lucrative ATM thefts, after being on the run for several years. Arrested in Tauru city, officials cited his involvement in multiple high-profile heists across Haryana, including in Rohtak, Jhajjar, and Rewari.
The breakthrough comes as investigators followed a crucial tip-off, leading to Aashiq's arrest. Alleged to have amassed over Rs 95 lakh through ATM hacking in 2018 alone, his capture marks a significant step in solving numerous unresolved theft cases.
Aashiq also faces legal challenges in Delhi, where charges under the Arms Act have been filed against him. With six robbery and theft cases to his name, his arrest is expected to provide insights into the criminal underworld of ATM heists.
