NMDC Reaffirms Role Beyond Mining

He noted that the company's growth is intrinsically linked to the well-being of the communities it operates in.
"Our strength lies in the trust of the communities we serve. Their concerns guide our actions, and their progress defines our success," he said.
He further articulated a vision of transforming surrounding villages into self-reliant, sustainable settlements aligned with the national goal of 'Viksit Bharat'.

This approach signals a shift toward more participatory and responsive development planning, where community inputs play a central role.
A Legacy of Development in Dantewada
Since beginning operations in the Bailadila region in 1968, NMDC has been a key driver of both industrial growth and regional development through its Bacheli and Kirandul complexes.
Over nearly seven decades, the company has contributed to:
-
Drinking water projects
-
Road development
-
Healthcare facilities and clinics
-
Sports infrastructure and community spaces
As India's largest iron ore producer, NMDC's presence in Dantewada has been deeply embedded in the region's socio-economic evolution.
Grassroots Voices Shape the Way Forward
The latest engagement reflects NMDC's effort to refine its development strategy based on real-time feedback from tribal and rural communities.
By integrating grassroots concerns into planning, the company aims to deliver more targeted and effective interventions that address both immediate needs and long-term development goals.
As Dantewada continues to evolve, such collaborative initiatives are expected to strengthen trust, accelerate infrastructure development, and ensure that economic progress is inclusive, sustainable, and community-driven.
