A chilling incident involving a US national has led to arrests in Kodagu, as a homestay staffer was accused of sexual assault.

The alleged assault took place at a homestay in Kutta village, with police confirming that the staffer involved hails from Jharkhand. Both the accused staffer and the homestay owner have been detained, the latter for allegedly not reporting the complaint promptly.

The victim alleged a spiking of her drink before the assault and claimed that the owner restricted her communication by disabling WiFi services, delaying her contact with authorities. Subsequently, she reached out to US consulate authorities and local police, ensuring that formal charges were filed and arrests were made.
