Congress Accuses BJP of Delimitation Motive Over Women's Reservation Bill Defeat
After a Bill to amend the Constitution and increase women's reservation was defeated, Congress accused the BJP of using the issue of delimitation to divert attention. Despite the bill's prior unanimous passing in 2023, the party claims the government seeks to preserve power rather than implement this law.

In a nationwide protest on Tuesday, Congress intensified its attacks on the central government after the defeat of a constitutional amendment bill aimed at increasing women's reservations in the Lok Sabha. Allegations suggest the Modi government is more interested in handling delimitation rather than championing women's rights in the political arena.
During various press conferences, prominent Congress figures asserted that the BJP deliberately delayed women's reservation implementation to maintain political control. Congress spokespersons highlighted that although the women's reservation law had been passed in 2023, it remains inactive due to the Centre's laxity.
The Congress party's criticism comes amid accusations that the government uses the women's reservation topic to mask its true intentions linked to delimitation before the 2029 polls. Calls were made for immediate execution of the passed law, stressing the BJP's inconsistency and political maneuvering on this issue.
