Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin issued a warning on Tuesday regarding a looming funding shortfall that could affect 50,000 Transportation Security Administration workers. Mullin emphasized the urgent need for congressional intervention to prevent imminent financial strain on the department.

In March, President Donald Trump directed the Department of Homeland Security to utilize emergency funds to pay TSA employees who had missed paychecks. This situation had previously caused significant disruptions at U.S. airports.

Mullin informed "Fox and Friends" that the allocated emergency funds are projected to run out by early May, underscoring the necessity for legislative action to ensure continued TSA operations and airport security.
