Gujarat Gears Up for Peaceful Local Elections: Security Bolstered

Dr. K L N Rao, Gujarat's in-charge DGP, took proactive steps to ensure a peaceful electoral process for local governing bodies across the state. On Tuesday, Rao led a video conference to assess and strengthen security arrangements ahead of these significant polls.
The upcoming elections cover a wide range, including 15 municipal corporations, 84 municipalities, 13 municipal by-elections, 34 district panchayats, and 260 taluka panchayat seats. To maintain law and order, a substantial deployment has been arranged, including 59,525 Home Guard and Gram Rakshak Dal personnel, supported by an additional 41,383 security personnel.
The DGP issued directives for intensified patrols in sensitive areas, clear communication, and fortified security at inter-district and state borders to ensure seamless elections. Officials are urged to remain vigilant and address any issues promptly to avoid disruptions.
