In a significant breakthrough, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested two individuals allegedly working under the directives of Shahzad Bhatti, a gangster with ties to Pakistan's ISI, an official announced on Tuesday. Their detention foiled imminent plans for firing and grenade attacks within Delhi and its surrounding regions.
Identified as Rajveer and Vivek Banjara, both hailing from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, these young operatives were part of a larger conspiracy to recruit through social media. This plot was orchestrated by Bhatti and his ISI-linked handlers, aiming for targeted acts of violence in the capital region.
The two men were apprehended following coordinated police efforts. Investigations revealed that they received directives and resources from Bhatti's network to execute planned attacks. Seized from their possession were weapons and phones containing data crucial to the conspiracy. Authorities are now working to dismantle the entire network.
