The Delhi High Court has called for the swift processing of the visa application of Pernia Qureshi, the daughter of meat exporter Moin Akhtar Qureshi.
In a recent order, Justice Sachin Datta noted that Qureshi, a US citizen, would submit her application for a visa with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), which has been urged to handle her request in accordance with existing guidelines.
This directive was issued during proceedings of a 2019 petition where Qureshi contested the Center’s decision to revoke her Person of Indian Origin (PIO) status and address her ineligibility for an Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) card based on the nationality of her ancestors.
