Academician Faces Legal Heat: Social Media Content Sparks Controversy

Academician Madhu Kishwar is embroiled in a legal tangle after a complaint was filed against her by a Chandigarh resident. The complaint alleges that Kishwar and some social media users circulated misleading and forged content, potentially causing public unrest and harming reputations.

An FIR has been lodged at the Sector-26 police station in Chandigarh under sections that address promotion of enmity, forgery, and criminal defamation. The alarming contents included video clips misdefined as obscene, with accusers claiming deliberate intention to mislead and cause damage.

Kishwar has responded via social media, confirming that the Chandigarh police served her with a notice after hours, which she contends is against the law's stipulation for evening visits. She insists on following lawful procedures in further dealings.
