A routine vehicle check by an Election Commission flying squad in Kodaikanal led to a significant incident involving the seizure of a firearm. The squad, stationed at the Silver Cascade entry point, halted a car carrying tourists from Tenkasi district.
Upon inspection, officials detected a gun inside the vehicle, prompting immediate action. The occupants, refusing to cooperate, fled the scene, instigating a high-speed pursuit by the authorities.
The flying squad, in coordination with Kodaikanal police, successfully intercepted the vehicle, confiscating the firearm. The four youths are now under intense interrogation to determine their motives, causing unease in the hill station community.
