In a significant operation, police in Surat, Gujarat, dismantled a fake ghee manufacturing ring, confiscating materials valued over Rs 36 lakh. The raid, conducted by the Surat Special Operations Group, resulted in the arrest of Bharat Polara and Amin Vadhvaniya.

The illegal setup was allegedly producing adulterated ghee and distributing it at a low cost across slum areas, grocery outlets, highway hotels, and peripheral districts, seeking illicit profits. Authorities uncovered ghee worth Rs 14,19,960 alongside machinery, raw materials, and cash during the operation.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajdeepsingh Nakum confirmed the arrests and seizure, stating that a case has been filed and investigations are ongoing. This crackdown signifies a crucial step against food adulteration practices in the region.
