A former Uttar Pradesh Police constable, identified as Ramveer Singh, has been taken into custody for allegedly carrying out a murder to stage his own death in a deceptive plot. Authorities reported that the unusual crime took place on March 12, near Hathras Road Halt of the North Eastern Railway.
The police discovered a charred body of an unidentified elder at the scene, initially believed to belong to Singh. It came to light that Singh, previously dismissed from the police due to criminal involvement, murdered a beggar and attempted to pass it off as his own death, placing his identification near the body.
Suyash Singh, the station in-charge, narrated how the investigation led to Singh's arrest on April 14, though the motive for such an act remains uncertain. Singh, a recurring offender, faces charges, including kidnapping, murder, and fraud, spanning across numerous districts.
