Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao condemned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's allegations that southern states would suffer political injustice in the upcoming delimitation exercise. Addressing the media, Rao accused Reddy of engaging in divisive politics and stated that the BJP remains committed to ensuring justice for all regions in the country.
Amidst these assertions, Rao highlighted the historical opposition by Congress allies to the women's reservation bill, which recently passed in parliament due to Prime Minister Modi's efforts. The BJP's commitment, he suggested, contrasts with the opposition's lack of sincerity on similar issues.
Meanwhile, BJP MP K Laxman questioned Reddy's proposed 'hybrid' model for increasing Lok Sabha seats. Despite Reddy's claim of potential risks for southern voices in Parliament, Laxman emphasized that delimitation should strictly adhere to population metrics, aligning with constitutional norms.
