High-Stakes Heroin Bust: Two Interstate Smugglers Apprehended

A joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Police and Anti-Narcotics Task Force has led to the arrest of two interstate smugglers, uncovering over 2 kg of heroin valued at approximately Rs 5 crore, officials announced on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police Keshav Kumar reported that the accused, from Bihar and Jharkhand, are allegedly part of an extensive interstate drug network. Authorities are actively working to identify and detain other members involved in the racket, with stringent measures promised against drug traffickers.
The apprehended individuals, Vinod Sahani from West Champaran, Bihar, and Rahul Kumar from Chatra, Jharkhand, were intercepted during a security check near a canal bridge in the Kasya area. A search revealed 2.505 kg of heroin in their possession, which they reportedly admitted to processing and selling for profit.
