Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has actively criticized former administrations for their failures in promoting education, accusing them of enabling cheating by ignoring school learning prior to 2017. Speaking in Varanasi at the launch of the 'School Chalo Abhiyan', he outlined a new path towards achieving full enrollment in primary and upper primary schools by adopting a more inclusive approach.
Adityanath highlighted key infrastructural improvements including the provision of toilets, drinking water, and separate restrooms for boys and girls. He emphasized a significant reduction in dropout rates, from 19% to 3%, attributing this success to concerted governmental efforts under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister encouraged teachers to improve their engagement with communities and households to further minimize dropouts to zero.
