Eastern Uttar Pradesh witnessed showers on Friday, providing a brief respite from the heat. Prayagraj saw the most rainfall with 5.6 mm, while Varanasi and Ghazipur followed with less precipitation, according to the meteorological department.
The city of Lucknow recorded temperatures soaring to 35.9 degrees Celsius. Despite the showers, Sultanpur emerged as the hottest location in the state, reaching a sweltering 38.6 degrees Celsius, officials noted.
The temperatures across the region remained high, yet the scattered rainfall offered slight comfort, painting a relief picture for residents grappling with the intense heat.
