Police authorities in Nagpur have initiated legal proceedings against Rameshwar Shivaji Darekar for disseminating what they describe as "false" and "objectionable" content targeting Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and his family.

The allegations were made public when Darekar, a resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, posted a video on his Facebook page on April 3, alleging that Minister Bawankule and his family own approximately 1,147 acres of land across three villages in Kamptee tehsil, Nagpur. The controversial video also contained derogatory language directed at the minister and his family members.

Following a complaint by Nikhil Ingle, Bawankule's social media coordinator, the Koradi police registered a case against Darekar under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police officials confirmed that the investigation is underway and further actions will be determined based on their findings.
