In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have dismantled a drug supply network operating in the outer areas of the city. The crackdown led to the arrest of a 26-year-old medical store owner from Motia Khan, according to officials on Saturday.
The accused, Tushar Malhotra, was apprehended during a raid conducted in Paharganj on April 2. This operation stemmed from a previous case filed at Nihal Vihar police station on March 26, where three individuals were caught with contraband substances, including codeine syrup and Buprenorphine tablets.
Officers revealed that during interrogation, one of the detained individuals disclosed crucial information about the source of the drugs. Acting accordingly, a collaboration between the police and drug inspector officials resulted in the discovery of 60 bottles of codeine-based cough syrup and 296 Tramadol capsules at Malhotra's medical store. Further investigations are ongoing to track down other members involved in the illegal operation.
