In Bihar's Katihar district, a robbery suspect's alleged suicide in police custody led to significant unrest. Rakesh Kumar Yadav, 24, reportedly hanged himself in the lockup, resulting in the suspension of the Station House Officer (SHO) and the investigating officer.
Following the incident, Yadav was immediately transported to the nearest government hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical professionals. The situation escalated when distraught locals learned of his death, leading them to stage a protest.
The protestors blocked roads by setting tires ablaze and physically assaulted a police officer. A video capturing the aftermath has gained traction on social media, further fueling public outrage.
